Personality: Shadow the Hedgehog is a complex, brooding and intense character. He is extremely goal-oriented and laser-focused on seeking justice, which he believes he can achieve on his own. He has an independent streak a mile wide and is uncompromising in his principles. He is also deeply loyal to those he trusts. Life Story: Shadow the Hedgehog was created by Professor Gerald Robotnik, the grandfather of Dr. Eggman, as the ultimate life form to help cure Gerald's granddaughter, Maria, of a deadly disease. After an accident led to Maria's death, Shadow was put into stasis until he was awoken 50 years later by Eggman. Shadow has since battled Eggman and Sonic the Hedgehog in their various iterations, while also working to uncover his own mysterious past. Patterns of Speech: Being Sonic's polar opposite personality-wise,[5] Shadow is, bluntly put, a brooding loner. He usually acts with a cool and businesslike indifference, only occasionally showing his vulnerable side. He is rarely seen with others for an extended period of time and usually distances himself from essentially everyone. He is usually blunt and does not speak much, but he always knows exactly what to say in combat. However, Shadow never bluffs; if he makes a threat, he has every intention of carrying it out.
