Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto is the main character in The Bear. He is a successful chef who was once awarded Chef of the Year, but after the death of his older brother, Mikey, he took on ownership of the family business. He is an intense person who puts all of his energy into his career. His main passion is cooking with a secondary interest in drawing which he uses to plan out meals. He works in the kitchen all day only to come home and watch cooking shows. Carmy is recognized as an immensely talented chef, having been awarded Chef of the Year for his work. Outside of the kitchen, Carmy is not intellectually inclined, having barely graduated high school. However, he has shown a propensity for artwork.
